Uma Garden is a fire-based restaurant in Umalas, Bali. We cook over wood and ember. Steaks first, whole fish, vegetables charred or raw, bread baked in-house, with wine and cocktails to carry the night. The idea is simple: real food, an open fire, and a room that brings people together.
We're at Jl. Umalas 1 No.8, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali 80361, in the quiet of Umalas, a short drive from Seminyak and Canggu. Open in Google Maps.
We're open every day, Monday to Sunday, from 12 pm to 12 am. The kitchen runs through lunch and dinner. The fire is at its best in the evening. The aperitif window opens in the late afternoon and the grill comes alive at sundown.
Wood-fire cooking. Steaks are the anchor, with cuts and sources we'll happily tell you about, alongside whole fish on the fire, seasonal vegetables, house bread and one fire-touched dessert. Both work. We recommend booking ahead, especially for dinner and weekends. You can reserve a table online here. Walk-ins are welcome too; there's usually a spot at the bar or in the garden.

Yes. The fire isn't only for meat. We char and serve vegetables as a dish in their own right, never as a garnish, plus house bread and sides. Tell us about any dietary needs when you book and the kitchen will look after you.
Wine is the spine of the list, built around the steaks, leaning natural, organic and producer-led, poured by people who know it. Cocktails carry the aperitif before dinner and the late drinks after. There's craft beer on hand too. The full drinks list is on the menu.
Yes. The garden and the rooms suit tables of two through to larger groups, and we host private dining and gatherings that fit the house. Tell us the date, the headcount and the occasion on WhatsApp or by email and we'll plan it with you.
Yes, families are welcome. It's a warm, open room built around a shared table, the kind of place where a long lunch or an early dinner with children feels right. For larger family tables, a quick booking ahead helps us seat you well.
No strict dress code. Uma Garden is relaxed. Come as you are for a long lunch, or dress up for dinner if the night calls for it. Most guests land somewhere in between: easy, unfussy, Bali evening.
Yes, there's parking on site, and scooters and cars can pull right up. If you're coming by taxi or Grab/Gojek, drop the Google Maps pin with your driver. We're tucked into Jl. Umalas 1.
We're in Umalas, right beside Seminyak, about 5 minutes away, and around 15 minutes from Canggu, though it depends on your vehicle and the traffic. A taxi, Grab or Gojek to the Google Maps pin is the easiest way in.
Come at dusk. The late afternoon is the aperitif window, a drink in the garden before the light shifts, and the grill comes alive as the sun drops. That's when the fire, the smell of wood smoke and the room are all at their best. Lunch is quieter and slower if that's what you're after.

We're not a halal restaurant. We serve pork, along with wine, cocktails and beer. That said, some of our beef comes from suppliers who follow halal slaughter, so if that matters to you, ask us and we'll point you to those cuts.
