When owner Allard Sjollema had this passion and idea to build a restaurant, he couldn’t think of a better sanctuary than Bali. He then team up with Tavolo Group to develop the concept of a restaurant that somehow is still connected with the values and core of Bali, and its people.

Bali is an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs. The island is home to religious sites such as cliffside Uluwatu Temple. To the south, the beachside areas have vibrant restaurants and bars, while Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua are popular resort towns. The island is also known for its yoga and meditation retreats. Bali is also known as the Island of the Gods because of the solid Hindu culture manifested through the many offerings offered to the guardian gods throughout the island of Bali.
Uma Garden found its home on the outskirts of Umalas, a stone’s throw from Seminyak’s hustle and bustle. The vibrant dining scene in the area makes it an attraction on its own, for tourists and expats alike.
At its core, Uma Garden isn’t about BBQ. It isn’t about meat. It’s about companionship and community. It’s about the warmth and the time that people dedicate at the table, making food a cultural language that touches and connects all. Which is something that Bali is about, its people, its culture, and of its food.
